Back in Business

We have heat again. The HVAC guy came this morning and was able to temporarily fix our heater until our new part comes in. I'm just thankful for the heat!

Bouncing

Today...because our house was colder inside than out...and because it was really nice outside we hung out in the backyard. We still don't have heat, but we did go purchase a couple of space heaters, which have raised the temperature to a comfortable 68 in our house. We should hopefully be getting our heater fixed tomorrow or Tuesday. Anyways...back to outside. I decided to get the trampoline out for the kids. They had a good time bouncing on it. If you look in the background you can see me getting the suitcase/luggage out of the our storage shed. We leave for vacation Saturday morning!!! I am super excited about that.

We're Out

of heat that is. Our heater went out today...boo. My dad came over to look at it, but decided that it was most likely the board, which means we are going to be without heat until at least Monday. We're headed to some friends' house tonight.

What a Mess

Charley and her independence. She insisted on feeding herself her pudding today. Needless to say she went straight into the bathtub when she was done.

Thursday

Today is the Thursday before grocery shopping. That basically means we don't have a lot of food in the house. Matthias really wanted a snack this afternoon. This soon turned into a huge fit because we are fresh out of snacks. The good news is tomorrow I will be venturing to the grocery store to restock our cabinets.

Pig Tails

Charley looks so cute with pig tails. I don't put her hair up very often because she doesn't really like for me to do it. She squirms and tries to bat my hands away. But she looks so cute it's worth the trouble.

Puddin'

This morning I made the kids some instant pudding. I had forgotten that I bought it and saw it in the cabinet, and it's super easy to make. The kids loved it. Charley is learning how to feed herself with a spoon, so it got a little messy...but it was worth it.

Family Day

Today was a busy day. Jonathan had the day off. We started off by taking the van to Midas for some repairs. Then Jonathan ran around getting parts. Around 1 Jon's dad and sister came over. The kids got a shorten napped because they were excited that Grandpa and Aunt Sarah were here. They love their Grandpa and Aunt Sarah. Charley had fun trying to feed Grandpa Sweetarts.

Uh Oh

We are in trouble...Charley can now climb the ladder on our neighbors playset. I get so nervous. Here's to hoping we don't end up in the emergency room.

Long Day

Today is one of those really long days. I worked from 9-430. Once I got home I talked to Jon for a few minutes, fed the kids their dinner, kissed Jon as he walked out the door to work a Blues game, and now I am getting ready to put the kids to bed. I'm ready to sit down and read a good book.

Little Miss

Our little girl is the cutest...and she knows it. She has us all (except Justus) wrapped around her finger. She can have quite the attitude sometimes. We are trying to correct it...but it's hard since she is the baby...and a little girl....and just look how cute she is!

Beautiful Day

I'm so thankful for the beautiful weather we have had the past few days. It has been great getting the kids out of the house. They loved being outside today and running free. I loved getting out of the house as well. I'm definitely looking forward to spring! Matthias is playing his "guitar" in the picture.

Mimi's House

This morning after Justus got home from school we headed to Mt. Vernon. The kids were excited to go to Mimi's house. I dropped the kids off at my parents' house and then went to see my good friend Amy and her sweet little boy, Josiah. I had a good time getting my baby fix and catching up with my friend. The kids had a good time running around outside and enjoying the beautiful weather we had today!

Nana

Charley was the first to wake from naptime today. She immediately wanted a 'nana. I was happy to give her one and set her on the counter while I did dishes. She loved sitting on the counter! It's amazing what will make a child happy sometimes.

Thomas

After church Jonathan went out to run a couple of errands. He came home with a new puzzle for Justus. He LOVED it! He is in a puzzle loving phase right now...and I must say he's really good at putting them together also.

Intervention

I have an addiction....to soda. I drink about 3-4 a day. It's bad. I saw something on the Today Show Thursday morning about people who drink diet soda on a daily basis are 61% more likely to have cardio vascular disease....yikes. So I have decided to give up soda. Day 1 has gone pretty well. I do have a slight headache though.

Free Spirit

I love our little Thi guy. He has such a little free spirit. He loves to dance, sing, kick, and run around and be crazy. It will be interesting to see how he channels that as he gets older. I have a feeling he is going to be an entertaining little boy.

You Know When It's Real...

Tonight we stopped at Wendy's for dinner before community group. The kids love going out for dinner. It was quite the adventure.

Like Father, Like Son

This morning I got a call from Justus' pre-k teacher telling me there had been a little incident at school today. The shocking news was that Justus was on the receiving end! I was actually happy about this. I guess one of the other students got mad and hit Justus in the face. He came home with a little mark on his face, but it went away. That has nothing to do with the picture. When Jon got home from work this evening I sent him and Justus to the store so that Justus could pick out his valentines...nothing like waiting until the last minute. I excited to see which ones he picks out.

Who's That Girl?

I decided to straighten Charley's hair today to see how long it really is. It is actually a lot longer than I thought. It's so hard to tell with all those curls! I really don't like her hair straight though...she loses her spunk.

Procrastination

Justus is the king of procrastination. He hates going to bed. He gets up about 20 times to go potty, needs his covers on, needs a drink, needs a snack...whatever it is. He's just good at delaying bedtime.

Daddy's Girl

Charley loves her Daddy. She is going to be a daddy's girl when she gets older. I'm pretty sure she will be able to get just about anything she wants from him.

Weee

I know you can't tell from the picture...but Charley loves flying like an airplane. She will come up to me and say "weee". She wants me to lift her up in the air so she can fly. The only problem is she doesn't want to come down.

Back to Normal

Today was Justus' first day back to school after 3 snow days this week. I was glad to get back to our normal schedule. Of course Justus came home and stripped to his normal attire for the remainder of the day.

Community Group

Thursday night is community group night. That means we get the kids in their jammies and head to Belleville. They love it. And we enjoy adult Bible study time too.

Clean Kids

If I'm being honest...I hate giving the kids a bath. Therefore, I don't as often as I should. It's a lot of work and they like taking baths together, which is even more work and more of a mess. I know that they love bathtime though. And I love clean kids.

Home Office

Jonathan decided to work from home today. It was kind of nice having him home...although I didn't spend much time with him. I actually got up and took the kids to the gym so that Jon could have the house to himself. When we got home the kids watched a little TV and it was time for naps. After naptime Jon had a little more work to do and quit around 430. Even though we didn't hang out...I was still glad to have him home.
