Playdate

Today I got to watch our friends' 3 little girls. Our kids love having friends over. And I love it too....the kids are always so much more well behaved when they have friends over, which makes my life easier.

Baby Curls

Today was the day. It was time for Charley's first haircut! Her hair was extremely uneven, and I finally decided she needed it cut. We didn't get too much of the length cut off...just shaped it up. It looks so much better now...especially in the back. She was such a big girl too. She didn't cry or anything. She would move her head sometimes, but I think that's to be expected. The stylist did a great job with her. Sorry for the bad picture...I used our little point and shoot that I carry in my purse.

Wild Woman

Charley is a wild sleeper. She tries to take up as much of her bed as possible. I almost always find limbs sticking out of her crib.

Beyond Disgusting

Today it was time to clean our van out. A deep cleaning....taking out all the car seats and everything. It took probably close to an hour to clean...but it looks so much better, and I wouldn't be embarrassed to have someone not related ride in our van now.

School's Out for Summer

Today was Justus' last day of school. He is officially on summer break until August. I am so thankful for our school district and their pre-k program....and the fact that we don't have to pay for it is an added bonus. Justus has grown so much this school year. We are going to continue to work on stuff over the summer, but this school year has brought a lot of changes. The biggest change is Justus' speech. I can not even begin to tell you what an improvement Justus has made in this area. He now speaks in full sentences and is understandable as well. He is learning to write, draw shapes, count and recognize numbers and letters. He's growing up.

Fishing

Justus loves to watch Little Bear. He imitates Little Bear all the time. Lately, Justus has been "fishing". It's pretty cute because I know he is doing it because he has seen Little Bear doing it.

Picnic Day

Today Justus' class had a picnic. It turned into an indoor picnic due to the rain. I had a good time hanging out with Justus' class. He also got a little certificate for finishing his first year of pre-k. He's such a big boy.

Muffin Man

Over the weekend I bought some muffins for Jonathan to take to work for him to eat for breakfast. He didn't need them, so I decided I would let the kids eat them. Turns out the only one who enjoys them is Thi. Enjoys is an understatement. It seems to be all he wants to eat these days.

Rock a Bye Baby

Charley loves this rocking chair. She sits in it all the time to watch tv...and most of the time she is only wearing her diaper. I love it!

Baseball

So Jon is really trying to get the boys interested in baseball. They start Mighty Ball Baseball June 4th. As of right now they are more interested in swinging. We are really hoping that this changes once they see other kids playing. I guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks.

I Scream

This afternoon we headed out to a little ice cream stand in town. They have your regular cheap

soft serve twist cones. The kids loved it. I'm glad we finally took advantage of this little stand.

Moments Later

So right before I took this picture Charley was snuggled in my lap...next thing I know she has thrown up all over my shirt and hers. Moments later she was back to herself. Guess we'll see how the evening goes.

Dress Up

Charley decided she wanted to wear one of my shirts around the house today. I wish the picture were a little clearer...she's a quick one.

So Long

I did something a little crazy today. I cut my hair. I'm going to donate it to Locks of Love.

Welcome to the Jungle...

Otherwise know as our backyard. The past couple of weekends have either been really busy or raining which has led to our grass growing out of control. I can't start the mower, so there usually isn't enough daylight to get it done once Jonathan gets home. Hopefully we will get it mowed this weekend....if it doesn't rain.

Catch

Tonight Jonathan took the boys outside to play catch. They didn't really get it yet. They soon switched over to soccer, which is much more their speed. Hopefully we are doomed since the boys start baseball in a couple weeks.

Baseball

So in a couple of weeks the boys will be starting Mighty Ball Baseball. So in preperation Jon got the boys a glove and a baseball tee. They were very excited about it. I love their little gloves....so cute!

Long Day

It's been a long day. I had to work from 8-4 and the store was crazy! It was non-stop. Anyways, Charley and Thi are both in bed and I am spending some time with my favorite 4 year old. Right now he is building a tower of books.

Bug Bites

I went into check on Justus during his "nap"time and he had a few little bites on his face. He didn't seem to notice and they went away. I have no idea what bit him or when it happened. I'm pretty sure the bites weren't on his face before naptime though.

Smoothie

I've been on a smoothie kick, which means that Charley has been too.

Apples

Justus is a very picky eater. Most days I am lucky if he eats much. Sometime he will surprise me though. Today for lunch he ate a bowl of macaroni and cheese and a whole apple. And I didn't have to bribe him to eat it either. It doesn't get much better than that.

This Guy

This guy is getting way too big...and very sneaky. Since the whole rabbit incident he has gotten a chair to reach on top of the fridge to get candy. He used a couple of pillows and a blanket to climb up to get a spray bottle that was hanging in our closet. It's hard to find places that are still out of his reach. Maybe he is done growing and it will no longer be an issue....okay, probably not.

Uneventful

Today was a pretty uneventful day. I got up, got Justus ready for school, put him on the bus, and then the rest of us headed to the gym. After the gym we headed to Target to get a few items and then back to the house where we have been since our adventures this morning. We did play outside for quite a while. I did a little yard work and Matthias helped.

Happy Mother's Day!

Today has been a great day! I got breakfast in bed, took the kids to the zoo, got to pick what we ate for lunch and got to take a nap! It's been relazing and very fun. I even got a couple of presents. One of the most exciting things was that Justus even signed my mother's day card! So cute!

Our Little Kobayashi

Tonight while having hot dogs, Matthias decided to shove his whole hot dog in his mouth. I guess he's practicing for the Nathan's hot dog eating contest.

Sneaky

The other night while at Wal-Mart I picked up some Easter candy. Most of it was $0.25. I got a chocolate bunny, and a couple packages of crispy chocolate bunnies. Well, this afternoon Justus decided he wanted to go play in his room. I thought it was odd, but he had picked up a basket full of toys, so off he went. I didn't think anything of it. After a little while I decided I should check on him since he was being quiet and hadn't come out of his room. I found him hiding behind his bed in the corner. He had his back to me at first, so I couldn't see what he was doing. I saw some marks on the wall and thought that he had been coloring on the wall. I asked, "What are you doing?" He slowly turned around holding a small remaining piece of the chocolate bunny.

Art

Today we spent some time coloring. Matthias loves to color. I think he's going to be our artistic child. He loves music and coloring and dancing and performing. Today he drew "circles".

Snack Time

So I left the room for a few minutes. When I left my children were quietly eating popcorn. When I returned snack time had turned into this.

Rainbow Ranch

Today I got to go on a field trip with Justus' class to Rainbow Ranch, a farm/petting zoo. It was a great time...although rather muddy. We got to see all sorts of animals including: chickens, goats, donkeys, camels, zebras, pigs, llamas and sheep. Justus had a really good time, but by the end he was pretty worn out and ready to head home. I'm really glad that I got to join him and his class today.

What a Mess

Justus is by far our messiest child. This is what his room looks like on a daily basis. I pick it up...and somehow it always ends up like this. I don't even know how all that stuff gets in there. I'm not looking forward to his teenage years. I can only imagine the dirty, smelly mess a teenage boy can make.

Yum

So today Jon and I got Wendy's for lunch. One of the kids' favorite things about us getting lunch is they usually get to finish my drink after naptime. Today's drink was lemonade. They loved it....and fought over it.
