New Diapers

So we decided to give Target diapers a try. We have been really hesitant since Justus' bottom is extra sensitive, but now that he only wears a diaper during naps and bedtime we figure now is a good time to give them a try. The price really can't be beat....and especially after my employee discount! Justus refuses to wear them as of right now. We will see how long that lasts since he usually goes poo at naptime and bedtime. Naptime went smoothly...no accidents. Maybe the diaper switch will help fully potty train him. I guess we will find out.

I Got My Hat On

Today Matthias grabbed one of Charley's onsies while I was folding clothes. He then walked around the room telling me, "I got my hat on, mom." I thought it was pretty cute.

Living on the Edge

My sweet little girl is quite the dare devil. Her favorite thing to do right now is to stand up on this rocking chair and rock back and forth while holding on to the couch. She first leans back and bumps her back against the wall and then leans forward to rock. Today she did it while eating a sucker.

Lazy Day

Charley loves being on our bed. She loves throwing herself on the pillows and crawling around aimlessly. She will move the pillows around and sometimes she just lays up there. Today was one of the days where she just laid on our bed. She was pretty sleepy I think because she just laid there for quite some time.

Mooch

Have I mentioned that Charley is a huge mooch? She will eat just about anything off of any one's plate. She doesn't ask either...she just takes it....more like sneaks it. She's pretty good at it. Notice that chicken nugget? Not hers. And that pizza all over her face and shirt? Also, not hers.

Never a Dull Moment

See that cut on Thi's face? Under his left eye? The boys love playing together, but sometimes Justus plays a little too rough. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I know it had to do with Foofa.

Muffin Time

This morning for breakfast the kids got homemade muffins. I made them the night before. They were pretty good. They were from Tasty Kitchen...I found the recipe on The Pioneer Woman's website. If you aren't familiar...you should definitely familiarize yourself.

My son was playing model when I was taking his picture this evening. I thought it was pretty funny that he posed for this picture.

New Lens

Today I purchased a new lens for my camera. It's a low light lens, so it takes great indoor pictures....which I take a lot of. Anyways, this isn't a great picture, but it was taken in our dark living room with no lights on. I'm still figuring out my new lens, but so far I really like it.

Buddies

Charley and Matthias...I can't say enough about their bond. They love playing together. Matthias is a friend to all...he's never met a stranger. That's just Thi. But he and Charley were having a good time while we were hanging out on Jon and my bed.

Who? Me?

A little back-story....Typically I try to shower while the kids are down for their naps. Today however, I didn't quite get to it before they got up. So I had some guests in the bathroom with me while showering. I knew Charley was in the bathroom because I could hear her talking and opening and closing the cabinets. When I got out of the shower I found her like this. She looked at me like..."What? I'm just playing here under the sink...is that wrong?"

The Fort

Justus refused to let Charley play in the fort today. He then got sent to his room. Once in his room Matthias welcomed Charley into the fort with open arms. I guess it's their special bond.

Big Boy

When did my baby boy get so big? How did this happen? No one told me. He looks so grown up in this picture. I'm not the only one who thinks so either...I showed this picture to Jonathan and he couldn't believe it was Thi. I'm not ready for him to grow up, but I guess it's going to happen whether I'm ready or not.

Wake-up Call

This afternoon the boys had gotten up from their nap before Charley. When they heard her wake up they both ran in there to say hi to her. She loved it. I'm glad the boys like their little sister.

Charley and the Chocolate Milk

This morning I took the kids to the store so that Jonathan could sleep in. He is working the Lady Gaga concert and won't be home until the wee hours of the morning. Anyways, so I decided to pick up some chocolate milk and doughnuts. Needless to say...Charley loved the chocolate milk.

Jonathan's In Trouble

I'm not looking forward to the day when Charley becomes interested in boys, clothes, hair, fashion....not to mention those dreadful teenage years. But before all that....Charley is going to discover how much power she holds in those beautiful blue eyes, and when she does....Jonathan is in big trouble.

Future's so Bright...

Dog House

Today I built the boys a fort...I mean "dog house". They loved it, and I loved that they loved it!

One of Those Afternoons

I should have known the afternoon was going to be rough when none of the kids wanted to take a nap and when they finally fell asleep they woke up after an hour. I didn't want to get them up knowing they would be super cranky...so I just let them cry themselves back to sleep. It seemed to work and they slept for almost two more hours. Unfortunately, they woke up in horrible moods. They definitely all had their meltdowns this afternoon. This picture was in the middle of Justus'.

Two for One

This morning I had the luxury of sleeping in. Jonathan, however, came in and woke me up at 715 and said he thought the boys weren't feeling well. I told him there wasn't much we could really do unless they were actually getting sick. He left the room and fifteen minutes later came back telling me that Justus had thrown up. I got up came to the living room and Matthias then got sick. They went back and forth getting sick for about an hour or so. The only highlight was that Justus learned that you should throw up in the toilet, so that at least saved us some clean up on his part. Matthias didn't quite get it, so we would just put him in the tub. Anyways....they were very easy to watch this morning since they just laid around. After the first rough hour they didn't get sick again, and after nap time they were back to their normal selves. They also had a monster appetite. Justus ate 6 french toast sticks and two waffles and some fruit loops. Matthias ate 4 waffles and some fruit loops. Whoa....I don't even want to know what they are going to be like as teenage boys when they are hungry!

Nap Time

Nap time on Sunday can be a little tricky. Matthias always falls asleep on the way home from church. He is then convinced that his 20 minute cat nap on the way home is sufficient, which it's not. Needless to say he went to his room for a nap, but didn't sleep very long. Jonathan then got him up at 130, turned on Monsters, Inc., checked his email, turned around to find Thi completely out on the couch a few minutes later.

Day 2

Today was day #2 of our garage sale. We decided to try the 2-day garage sale this year...not worth it. That's okay though. Anyways, today's item of choice for the kids to play with was there Halloween costumes from last year. Matthias wore his lion costume around for quite some time. I know he had to be hot, but he looked so cute!

Bouncy Baby

Jon and I are having our annual garage sale and of course that means dragging a lot of stuff out that hasn't seen daylight in a very long time. It's so crazy how the kids love playing with all the old toys that we bring out...ones they NEVER touched when they were in the house....but now they are new, different, exciting. Anyways...the bouncy seat has been the cause of a couple little spats today. I brought it inside in hopes of getting the cover washed so it looked a little more appealing. The kids love it! They love turning on the white noise and just sitting in it....even though all of them are way too big for it. Charley just likes crawling all over it and trying to climb onto the couch from it.

Lollipop

Charley is such a great eater. She will eat just about anything...including sticks, leaves, crumbs, anything found on the floor. One thing she LOVES though is suckers. She gets so mad if she thinks I am going to give the boys a sucker and not her.

Special Bond

I know this isn't a great picture, but Matthias and Charley have a special bond. They have since Charley was born. They just love each other. It's really sweet, and it's something I hope continues as they get older. All three children have a bond, but Matthias and Charley's is special.

Blueberry Pancakes

Jonathan had to work a promotion this evening at work, so I decided to make something special for the kids and myself for dinner...something Jonathan probably wouldn't eat...blueberry pancakes. I had some fresh blueberries and thought the kids would love it!! Unfortunately, Charley was the only one besides me that enjoyed them. Semi-fail.

Wink, Wink

Matthias has recently began imitating Jon and I winking at him. He doesn't quite understand how to wink, so he just blinks really hard. I think it is pretty cute since I'm sure he is convinced that he is winking.

Bath Time

This evening I had to work....for those of you who don't know I picked up a part-time job at Target a couple nights a week. It is mostly to get out of the house and have some adult interaction, but also to make a little extra money so that we can go on vacation sooner rather than later. Anyways....I usually give Jonathan a rundown of things that I didn't get to before I leave for work. Tonight it was bath time. Bath time is typically something I don't ask him to do, but the boys were in desperate need of one and it couldn't be put off any longer. I think he took this picture just so that he had proof that he did actually give them a bath.

In Love

I'm in love with a girl...and this smile is one of the many reasons why.

Play Date

This morning I loaded up the kids and headed to Granite City for a play date with some of my mom friends. It was a good time and the kids had fun playing with all the new toys.

Bowl Shoes

Justus came up to me today and said, "Mom, where my bowl shoes?" I of course told him I didn't know because I had no idea what he was talking about. He then found his "bowl shoes" and proceeded to walk around the house in them. It's amazing what 3 free bowls from the hospital can be used for in the imagination of a 3 1/2 year old.
